Who I Am, and
Why I Lead This Way
I grew up in a working-class family in Scarborough, helping run one of Toronto’s first video stores in the 1980s. We worked hard, moved often, and faced real financial uncertainty. Those years taught me responsibility, resilience, and what it means to put obligations before yourself.
I moved out at 18, put myself through firefighting college and fire protection engineering, and built a 26-year career at General Motors as an industrial fire and security officer. Safety, accountability, and systems that work under pressure are not theories to me. They are my job.
Public service has always been part of my life: coaching, serving on boards, representing workers, advocating for safer streets, and standing up for community assets.
In 2023, my family and I made Scugog our home. Since then, I’ve worked alongside residents to protect wetlands, support seniors, advocate for safety, and strengthen community life.
I believe in:
-
impact over slogans
-
evidence over noise
-
listening before deciding
-
admitting when I get it wrong
